ABOUT

The Feminist History of the Internet in Lower Manhattan Walking Tour started as a research project with collaborator Emma Rae Norton for ITP Camp inspired by the book BroadBand by Claire Evans. Covering six stops in lower manhattan, the walking tour shares stories of women who were instrumental in the development of computing and the internet and asks the question “what would a feminist internet look like?”

The tour ran as part of the Radical Networks conference in 2019 and appeared as an article in ITP Adjacent Journal Issue 5 under the title Cyberspace Trailblazers: Women of the Early Internet in NYC.
