AI for Artists
ABOUT
From 2019-2021 I was a contributor to ml5.js, an open source javascript library for doing machine learning (or AI) in the browser. It is now a given that AI can run in the browser, but at the time this was an exciting early development! The library is built on TensorFlow.js and is primarily used for teaching and as a creative tool for artists and coders.
License & Code of conduct
I was part of the committee at ITP that worked with the NYU Center on Innovation Law and Policy at NYU Law to create a code of conduct and license for ml5.js.
You can read more about our process in the Medium post A New Code of Conduct and License for ml5.js and you can read the full license on GitHub here.
Machine learning for the arts class
During the 2019 Fall semester I was a teaching assistant for an undergraduate class called Machine Learning for the Arts taught by Daniel Shiffman. In this role I contributed to curriculum development, held office hours, gave feedback on student assignments and assisted with in class demos. I also guest-taught a class on evaluating data sources and preparing datasets for machine learning algorithms.
